Jason's Story
A Journey Rooted in Purpose and Service
Jason Williamson grew up in a small town of just 81 people, where he learned the values of hard work, loyalty, and service—principles that have shaped both his personal and professional life. These early lessons, combined with his experience as a High School principal and a member of the Army Reserves, provided the foundation for his leadership philosophy: The Second Mile Mentality.
Inspired by Matthew 5:41, which says, “If a person forces you to go one mile, go with them the second mile,” Jason created the Second Mile Initiative to help organizations and individuals go beyond what is expected, exceed their goals, and achieve greater results. He developed this framework during his time leading students, faculty, and the community through shared commitments, and he continues to use it as a tool for transformative leadership today.
Jason’s dedication to leadership excellence is grounded in his personal story: from his roots in a close-knit family, where trust and reliability were essential, to his service in the Army Reserves, which taught him the importance of ownership and action. He also pulls from his experiences coaching sports teams, where progression over regression was always the goal.
